Western Washington University uses its integrated Western Alert system to communicate with the university community during times of emergency to provide on-going information in a timely way.
Multiple ways of communicating are used, as this is a best practice in disseminating information quickly and effectively. These methods include, but are not limited to:
- Steam whistle alert
- Email messages
- Website
- Text messages
- Voice annunciation system
